Description
Polski: GENEROWANIE DŹWIĘKU POPRZECZNEGO

Obraz jest graficzną ilustracją odkrycia naukowego, jakim jest stworzenie porzecznej fali dźwiękowej dzięki przepuszczeniu normalnej fali dźwiękowej (podłużnej) przez tzw. metamateriał mikropolarny. Odkrycia dokonali fizycy z City University of Hong Kong, a wyniki badań opublikowano w "Nature Communications" (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-26375-9#author-information) Moja grafika w sposób schematyczny przedstawia istotę tego eksperymentu: zmianę podłużnej fali dźwiękowej w poprzeczną falę dźwiękową po przejściu przez odpowiedni materiał rezonujący.

Powstała na ekranie komputera z wykorzystaniem wizualizacji dźwięku w programie Vinamp oraz przy użyciu programu graficznego Gimp.
English: GENERATING TRANSVERSE CROSS SOUND

The image is a graphic illustration of the scientific discovery, which is the creation of a transverse sound wave by passing a normal sound wave (longitudinal) through the so-called micropolar metamaterial. The discovery was made by physicists at the City University of Hong Kong, and the results are published in "Nature Communications" (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-021-26375-9#author-information) My artwork schematically shows the essence of this experiment: the change of a longitudinal sound wave into a transverse sound wave after passing through a suitable resonating material.

It was created on a computer screen with the use of sound visualization in Vinamp and the Gimp graphic program.
