I must tell you I have been in the Hospital I hurt my foot and I could not walk for two weeks but I am out of the Hospital again and back in my old Camp again but all old best mates gone from here and there is only me left here from our old May Morn Platoon so I had hard luck old man. Dear Sonie I got your letter all right and I was so glad to hear from you and you must write every time your dear Mother to me and tell me how you are getting on. This is not a very pretty postcard but it is the best I could get but I will try to get a better one next time I write to you. Now Sonie dont forget to be a good boy to your Mother. You look after her for old Dad’s sake. Now my dear Boy I will say goodbye hopeing to get a letter from you soon with lots of kisses to you and Mum. I remain your loving Father. XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX. F.S.W.”
