Post Medieval Trade Weight
Description
English: A circular cast copper-alloy weight of probable late post-medieval date. It has a wide thick raised edge on the upper face and an inner turned circle around a central point. The upper face is marked irregularly with a series of stamped initials. These comprise a crowned G (George I) at 10 o'clock, a long sword (the city of London) and an A (avoirdupois) at 12 o'clock and a ewer at 6 o'clock. Within the inner circle are the initials T G.
