Description |
English: Post Medieval Fragment of buckle, angled double-trapezoidal frame with triangular outside edge between ovoid lobe at corners, narrowed central bar projects beyond frame, scrolled decoration in counter-relief, 41 x 28mm. This example is very unusual with the sunken areas of the frame being filled alternately with blue and white enamelling. Cf. Whitehead (2003), no.521 for a more usual non-enamelled example. 17th century. |
