Description
English:

By 1882, the Oregon Railway & Navigation Company had established a line from Portland to eastern Washington and Oregon, forcing a decline in steamboat traffic along the Columbia River. In 1889, Union Pacific Railroad purchased the majority of the stock in the OR&N.

The only steamship line between Portland and San Francisco. The fine steamers of the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company run between Portland and San Francisco every fourth day...Rates are low and accomodations good. Portland and Astoria. Steamers carrying the U.S. mails run daily...Steamer are also run in regular service on the Willamette River, the Upper Columbia River and the Snake River.
