Le réacteur (aussi appelé autoclave) industriel de polymérisation est une cuve verticale de volume supérieur à 1 m3.

Mode opératoire (début) : fermer le réacteur ; chauffer à 50 °C ; la pression atteint 0,7 MPa (7 bar) ; dégazer quand la pression diminue (le taux de conversion atteint 90 %).
