Description
English: Traditional masks of Sri Lanka in Nishantha Wood Carving Factory, Polonnaruwa,.- Maha Kola is the patron of 18 disease demons depicted in the Sanni dance (devil's dance). Holding victims in her hands and mouth, Maha Kola is surrounded by serpents and the 18 Sanniyas - the demons of blindness, cholera, boils and other pestilences, each given their own mask.
