Summary[edit]

Description
English: Diagram of linear polarization The direction of the black line relative to the central axis represents the direction of the electric field of the linearly polarized light at each point in space. The blue and red lines are projections of the helix onto two planes which are at right angles. ---- This image is identical to the original with the exception of phase indictors to make the phase relationship of its components clearer. ---- The original was created using Mathematica and the Open Source program Inkscape. Refer to the origin for information concerning its initial creation. It was altered using Inkscape.

This W3C-invalid trigonometry was created with Inkscape…important.
This trigonometry is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: The Plane of the Linearly Polarized light is out of the plane of the image. The original can be viewed here: Polarisation (Linear).svg. Modifications made by Dave3457.
