Description

Ploceus vitellinus (Lichtenstein, 1823) subsp. uluensis

English: A male Vitelline Masked Weaver (cf. [1]) in eclipse plumage, in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Dull red eyes associated with non-breeding birds. Some of the yellow, male breeding plumage remains on the belly, which is now mostly white. Feet show signs of pinkish fleshy colour, while a superciliary stripe is almost absent.
