| Description |
English: Pleated fan with painted paper leaf. Obverse mount shows a couple – the woman is seated, and the man stands under an arbor by a fountain with two bathing cupids. One cupid is shooting an arrow at the couple. In cartouches at either end are two cupids in monochrome. The reverse has a central monogram with cupids in cartouches at either end. Sticks are elaborately carved with openwork (à jour), painted and gilded. The center shows a naval battle, and on either side trophies and soldiers storming two towers with a cannon. |
