Heinrich Wolf (1825-1882), Geologist. Geological Survey of Austria, where he reorganized the map collection in 1871, and 1877

Deutsch: Heinrich WOLF(1825-1882) begann als Trägerseine Laufbahn an der Geologischen Reichsanstalt im 1850. Nach verschiedenen Kursen am polytechnischen Institut und eifrigem Selbststudium begann er im Jahre 1859 seine wissenschaftliche Laufbahn als Praktikant. 1862 wurde er zum zeitlichen und im Jahre 1871 zum definitiven Hilfsgeologen ernannt, 1872 zum Bergrath, 1873 zum Geologen, und ab 1877 gekleidete er den Titel eines ehefgeologen. Er war in allen Teilen der Osterreichisch-Ungarischen Monarchie tätig und hinterließ neben zahlreichen Publikationen ein umfangreiches Werk von geologischen Karten. In Böhmen konzentrierte sich seine geologische Feldarbeit in der Umgebung von Braunau/Broumov, Reichenau/Rychnov nad Kneznou u.a. Seine größten Verdienste erwarb er sich bei den sorgfältigen Arbeiten anläßlich der Quellenkatastrophe in Teplitz/Teplice.
