Description

Плафон от подвесного коронационного балдахина

Россия, 1896 г. Бархат, атлас, глазет, золотный шнур, блестки, фольга, золотные и шелковые нити, металл; ткачество, шитье, аппликация.

Плафон от подвесного, или висячего, балдахина в Успенском соборе был создан к коронации императора Николая II и императрицы Александры Федоровны. По традиции, ведущей свое начало с коронации 1724 г., он выполнен из малинового бархата; в центре его помещен герб Российской империи, выполненный в технике аппликации, а по углам — вензели императора в окружении цепи ордена Святого Андрея Первозванного. Элементы герба выполнены из глазета и разноцветного атласа и вышиты с использованием фольги золотными и шелковыми нитями и блестками. Все золотошвейные работы были выполнены монахинями трех московских монастырей — Вознесенского, Новодевичьего и Алексеевского.
