Description
English: Plaque commemorating the history of the Plaza de Risueño in Cartagena (Spain), in the monument to Immaculata. It reads:

This square, formed in the 17th century, was originally surrounded by buildings intended to house horses, which is why it was known as Plaza de las Caballerizas, de las Cocheras or de los Caballos. In the middle of the 18th century it was called Plaza de San José because of the image of the saint on one of the facades. At this time it was used as a bullfighting arena, and at the end of the 18th century, fruit-selling huts were established there, which would disappear when the Mercado de la Merced was built. In 1884, the City Council gave this space the name of the Cartagenero doctor Benigno Risueño de Amador. In 1954, the statue of Immaculata that presides over the square was erected. The last remodeling of this space was carried out in 1998, being the Mayor of Cartagena Pilar Barreiro.
