Description
English: Plaque commemorating the visit to Cartagena (Spain) by the writer Hans Christian Andersen, and the transformation of the former football field of the Club Deportivo Naval into the Parque de Los Juncos. It reads:

"It was our last night in Cartagena, the city of Hasdrubal. Tonight I dreamed that I was at the bottom of the sea. Some strange plants, as splendid as the palm trees of Elche swirled around me: I saw magnificent pearls but none as beautiful as the eyes I had seen in Spain".

The Los Juncos field, the former headquarters of the Club Deportivo Naval, was transformed into an urban park and inaugurated on September 19, 2006, the most excellent Mrs. Doña Pilar Barreiro Álvarez being mayor of Cartagena.

Español: Placa conmemorativa de la visita a Cartagena (España) del escritor Hans Christian Andersen, y de la transformación del antiguo campo de fútbol del Club Deportivo Naval en el parque urbano de Los Juncos. En ella se lee:

«Fue nuestra última noche en Cartagena, la ciudad de Asdrúbal. Esta noche soñé que estaba en el fondo del mar. Unas plantas extrañas, tan espléndidas como las palmeras de Elche se arremolinaban en torno mío: veía magníficas perlas pero ninguna tan hermosa como los ojos que había visto en España».

El campo de Los Juncos, antigua sede del Club Deportivo Naval, fue transformado en parque urbano e inaugurado el 19 de septiembre de 2006, siendo alcaldesa de Cartagena la Excma. Sra. Dña. Pilar Barreiro Álvarez.
