Description Photo of the Pioneer Zephyr as it sped through Aurora, Illinois on its way to Chicago's Union Station in the historic "Dawn to Dusk Dash" from Denver to Chicago. The train left Denver at 7:04 AM and arrived in Chicago at 8:09 PM. The photo shows a gathering of people who had come to watch the train go by; the Aurora street lights have come on and many of the cars in the photo have their headlights on, indicating dark was beginning to fall.
Date 26 May 1934-the front of the photo is marked "World-Record Run-May 1934", and the date of the "Dash" is noted at back.
