Português: A partir de 1930 o museu ficou fechado por dois anos. Nessa época, as instalações do edifício sofreram várias alterações, pois tiveram que ser transformadas transitoriamente em alojamento militar. Com a chegada de Getúlio Vargas ao poder, a Secretaria de Segurança Pública requisitou o prédio para ali abrigar o Grupo Escolar Prudente de Moraes, que ocupou sua ala direita, dispondo de dezesseis salas e duas galerias. Em 1932 o prédio foi cedido à ocupação do Batalhão Santos Dumont. Durante esse período conturbado, a coleção da Pinacoteca foi distribuída entre diversos órgãos públicos.
