Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pilgrim-St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 335 Richmond Avenue at West Utica Street, Buffalo, New York, January 2020. Erected in 1911 from a design by architect Robert Wallace, the building was the third one to house the congregation of St. Luke's German Evangelical Church, which had been worshipping in a series of smaller frame churches on the same site since their foundation in 1873. Built of rough-textured limestone for a cost of $105,000, the church took on its present name after St. Luke's December 1968 merger with First Pilgrim Congregational Church. A January 1984 fire gutted the building, and though it's been thoroughly reconstructed in the years since, the art glass skylight in the octagonal auditorium has been lost. The Pilgrim-St. Luke's building also serves as home to El Nuevo Camino, a Spanish-speaking congregation that's also affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
