English: This illustration by Pierre Eugène Aubert (1789-1847) depicts a scene in the Jardin des plantes in Paris. It is one out of the fourteen that were produced for the work Histoire et description du Muséum royal d'histoire naturelle, ouvrage rédigé d'après les ordres de l'administration du Muséum, par M. Deleuze, avec trois plans et quatorze vues des jardins, des galeries et de la ménagerie, published in 1823. The illustration shows the Amphithéâtre de Verniquet on the right hand side and the rear façade of the hôtel de Magny in the background.
