Mme Georges Grimprel, Paris, until at least 1913. J.H. Laroche, Paris, by 1933. Paul Rosenberg, Bordeaux. Fernand Javal, Paris, by whom acquired from the above in July 1935. Deposited with Paul Rosenberg, from whom confiscated by the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg in 1941 (inv. no. PR 160). Acquired for Hermann Goering on 2 December 1941 (inv. no. RM 1136). Recovered by the 5th Convoy of Munich in March 1946 (no. 7193) and transferred to Paris. Restituted to Paul Rosenberg in July 1948. Returned to Fernand Javal, Paris, and thence by descent to the last owners. |
