DescriptionPhilip Lane - Flytipping (15075748030).jpg |
14 September 2014. Dumped rubbish in Philip Lane N15 near Jansons Road, and opposite Napier Road, Tottenham. Even by Haringey standards, this pile of dumped waste was staggering. I don't know who dumped it. Nor did a nearby resident who told me she had reported it to the Council. But when I spent a few minutes taking photos and a brief video, a couple of people told me that dumping was getting worse round there. And that's one problem when we want to "regenerate" our area. If people think the battle is being lost. ___________________________ § "We cannot achieve the big things we want for London if we do not attend first to the small things." — 'The Good City: where neighbourhoods thrive and everybody matters'. www.change-london.org.uk/ § "Our streets are among the cleanest in London and resident satisfaction is at its highest ever level." — Claire Kober Leader of Haringey Council. Election Manifesto May 2014. § "I can't believe that!", said Alice. "Can't you?", the Queen said in a pitying tone. "Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes." Alice laughed. "There's no use trying" , she said: "one can't believe impossible things." "I daresay you haven't had much practice", said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." — The White Queen; "Alice Through the Looking Glass" chapter 5. § "You cannot change what you refuse to confront." — Proverb. |
