Summary[edit]

Description

The Philadelphia National Bank Building at 321-323 Chestnut Street between S. 3rd and S. 4th Street in the Old City neighborhood of Philadelphia was built in 1898 and was designed by Theophilus Chandler. It was part of Philadelphia's Bank Row.

In 1974, it became home to the Philadelphia Maritime Museum, which has since moved east to Penn's Landing and been renamed Independence Seaport Museum. Today, the building houses the National Liberty Museum. (Sources: Philadelphia Architecture: A Guide to the City' (2nd ed.) and Architecture in Philadelphia: A Guide)
