Description The first Girard Avenue Bridge, built 1855, closed 1872, was a timber arch Howe truss bridge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that carried Girard Avenue over the Schuylkill River. Photo shows placque mounted beneath the bridge on Kelly Drive.
