Summary[edit]

Description

new zealand robins (petroica australis) are friendly and abundant along the track.

they kept getting close to my shoes, which was puzzling. at some point i even thought it wanted to peck at me. then a woman explained that the robin was waiting for me to turn the soil, so it could pick at the worms and small insects. these birds have clearly adapted to the frequent walkers.
