English: LOCALLY KNOWN AS [KOZ PETAW ] IS A DEVELOPING VILLAGE OF NOWSHEHRA DISTRICT OF THE KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA PROVINCE OF PAKISTAN. ITS ONE OF THE MAIN LINK FOR THE CONNECTING THE SOUTH WEST FAR VILLAGES TO THE JAHANGIRA CITY ON GRAND TRUNK [GT]ROAD.IT IS SITUATED AT 33"56'03.91" N AND 72"10'39.84"E .THE PEOPLE ARE LOCALLY KNOWN AS PETAWAALS.

PETAW [PAYAN] IS THE HOME AREA OF OF THE FAMOUS KHATTAK TRIBES ,THEY ALL ARE A FAMILY GROUP RELATED TO ONE GREAT POET ANDTHE PROGENITOR KHUSH HAAL KHAN KHATTAK .THE 100 % POPULATION OF PETAW [PAYAN] ARE KHATTAK .THE POPULATION OF PETAW [PAYAN] IS LESS OR MORE ABOUT 5000 PEOPLE ,ALL ARE 100%MUSLIMS .PUSHTO IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE SPOKEN AND UNDERSTOOD ,HOWEVER ,SOME OF THE NEW GENERATION ARE FLUENT IN SPEAKING URDU, ENGLISH AND UNDERSTAND ARABIC TOO. PETAW [PAYAN ] IS SUROUNDED BY GREEN LOW HILLS ON ITS EAST AND WEST AND ON ITS SOUTH IS KHAWRAI VILLAGE ,IN NORTH IS THE NORTH WESTREN RAILWAY ROUT AND SHAIDU AND IN WESTNORTH IS JAHANGIRA CITY. LITEACY RATE ; WE ARE ABOUT 50% LITERATED AND THE RATE IS GROWING UP RAPIDLY. MAJOR TRIBES IN PETAW PAYAN BABU KHEL ,RAZAR AND KAKAR . SOURCE OF INCOME; AGRICULTURE,GALABANI,MINERAL STONES .,HOWEVER THE YOUNG GENERATION IS INTERESTED TO WORK IN ABROAD IN GCC COUNTRIES AND PLAYS A GREAT ROLE IN DEVELOPING THE VILLAGE. PETAW PAYAN PEOPLE ARE PROUD OF TAKING CARE OF TOMBS OF BODAI BIBI BADU BABA AND PAKIR BABA ,THEY PROVIDE HOSPITALITY SERVICES TO THE VISITORS . TRANPORT SYSTEM ; DATSUNS ,TAXIS AND PRIVATE CARS ARE THE MAIN SOURCE . WE ARE HAVING THREE JAMA MOSQUE FOR PRAYERS . HEALTH CARE FACILITY UNFORTUNATELY WE DON'T HAVE ANY HEALTH CARE CENTER IN AREA AND WE ARE DEPENDENT ON THE CLINICS SITUATED IN JAHANGIRA AND SHAIDU TO MEET OUR HEALTH REQUIREMENTS WHICH ARE SOME TIMES OUT OF REACH ESPECIALY IN THE NIGHT TIME .THE PETAWIANS ARE LOOKING FORWARD FOR THE PAKHTUNKHWA GOVERNMENT AND NGO'S TO PROVIDE SUCH FACILITY IN THE AREA .WE SOLVE OUR DISPUTES BY JARGA SYSTEM AND RAELY CONTACT IN COURTS......... laldaraz khan
