Notes
English: The monumental canopy depicting a garden of paradise is divided into eight-pointed rosettes and stars. In the middle rosette on a low throne sits Shah Tahmasp I with a book and a handkerchief in hand. The fabric was probably purchased in the 2nd half of the 19th century in Cairo or Istanbul by General Ludwik Bystrzonowski. Then came the collection of Prince Władysław Czartoryski, initially at the Hôtel Lambert, and then in Gołuchów. In 1931, Prince Adam Ludwik donated the tapestry to the Princes Czartoryski Museum in Krakow. Looted by the Germans during the World War II; restituted in 2003 from the United States.
