When examining the hand of a murderer the palmistneed not expect to find a sign showing that the deedwas or will be done in self-defense or in a fit of passion,for there is no sign in anyones hand which disclosessuch information. Abnormal developments are the causes which oftenlead to crime. A disposition to murder is shown bysuch developments, as well as a disposition to commitother crimes. Leaving out of consideration murdercommitted in self-defense or in a fit of passion (tem-porary insanity) I conclude from my extended observa-tions that murder is committed by persons who arebrutally cruel, insane persons and idiots.The Brutal Murderer.
