What the small lines signify depends upon their posi-tion and number on the main lines. The more linesthere are on the Mount of Venus the more passionatethe person. (Plate XXIII.) The Mount of Venus isalmost without small lines, which announces a calm,peaceful life. A single line on Saturn (a, Plate XXIII.) denoteshappiness; many lines, calamity. When there is but one line on the Mount of Mer-cury (b, Plate XXIII) it denotes that the person willhave a chance to gain a fortune; if many lines the per-son will be disposed to steal.
