Summary[edit]

Description This was originally the Montgomery Ward building which closed in 1969. In the late 1970's, an effort was made to create an artistic community in this area called Peoples Alley. A number of artists had studios and galleries here and, I think, in the McDonald Building. Sometime in 1978 a street party was held in the 400 block of Peoples St featuring art and food sales and a street dance.
