Peniophora pithya (Pers.) Erikss. Image location: Highbanks Metro Park, Lewis Center, Ohio, USA Crush mount at 400x in Melzer’s Growing on an Acer sacchariferum stick with Tremella mesenterica observation 304271. Heavily encrusted, inamyloid, hyaline, non-septate, metuloid cystidia abundant. Cystidia measured (5 of them) 7.4 to 9.6 µm wide. At least some hyphae brown, thick-walled and profusely branched. Gloeocystidia and dendrohyphidia absent. Spores smooth and inamyloid.
