Nederlands: Direct na de capitulatie van de Duitse strijdkrachten op de Lüneburger Heide op 4 mei 1945, sommeerde de Canadese luitenant-generaal Charles Foulkes Generaaloberst Johannes Blaskowitz om op 5 mei naar Hotel De Wereld in Wageningen te komen om instructies in ontvangst te nemen met betrekking tot de aftocht van de Duitse strijdkrachten uit Nederland. Blaskowitz, in rang hoger dan Foulkes, stuurde zijn tweede man, luitenant-generaal Paul Reichelt. Foulkes nam daar geen genoegen mee en stuurde Reichelt terug met de opdracht Blaskowitz te halen.
