Published by the Associated Cartoon Service. Artwork by John R. Gill.Patrick Pittman Carroll (1844-1925) was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He served in the Volunteer Naval and Marine Battalion and the the Forty-Eighth Pennsylvania in the Army during the Civil War. He went to medical school in Philadelphia, and then law school in New Orleans at Louisiana University. He came to Seattle in 1886, by way of San Francisco and Olympia. In addition to practicing law, he was active in the lumber business. He was married to Sarah Jane Talbott, with whom he had five children. |
