A walk around Parque de María Luisa, from the Plaza de America to Plaza de Espana, following our tour guide of Seville, who talked along the way! The Parque de María Luisa located in Seville ( Spain ) is the public garden or most famous park in the city and one of its green lungs . It has recently been declared of Cultural Interest . It opened as a public park on April 18, 1914 with the name of Infanta María Luisa Fernanda Urban Park. These spaces, which in principle were part of the private gardens of the Palace of San Telmo , was donated in 1893 by the Infanta María Luisa Fernanda de Bourbon , Duchess of Montpensier , city. The park was built the Plaza of Spain and America on the occasion of the Ibero-American Exposition in Seville in 1929, constituting one of its main attractions. The Plaza de America is home to two museums: The Archeologic Museum and the Crafts and Popular Arts Museum, opposite. The squeare is within the Maria Luisa park and its design is inspired in the Mudejar. One of the famous spot is the small area where families have traditionally been bringing their children to play with pigeons.
The Royal Pavilion is located in the Plaza de America the Maria Luisa Park in Seville , Spain. It was built between 1911 and 1916 for the Ibero-American Exposition by Aníbal González . His style is flamboyant Gothic. During the exhibition was designed to contain the art collections of the Royal House. Emphasize their beautiful polychrome coffered wood and white and blue ceramic facade. At the entrance of access, on pedestals six eagles in stone holding shields of the Spanish monarchy (Lordship of Vizcaya, Kingdom of Spain, the Duchy of Burgundy and Tuscany, de Molina and Kingdom of Jerusalem) appear as welcoming to walkers . Around the pavilion there are ponds with water features. Is flanked by the Mudejar Pavilion and the Pavilion of Fine Arts, current Museum of Popular Arts and Archaeological Museum , respectively, in front of you is a large fountain with a pond which still survive red some tents, and more to the front almost to the outskirts Plaza de America, lies Glorieta de las Palomas , where it is not uncommon to see younger attending flock to feed these birds. The Royal Pavilion is a clear example of historicism, and is performed just like the other two mentioned in this space by the architect Aníbal González, Commissioner of the Exhibition. Screened in memory to the Infanta Maria Luisa of Orleans for his donation to the city of most of the gardens of the park that bears his name, is built on a clear neo-Gothic style with abundant ornamental details based brick elements carved and glazed ceramics. With Greek cross on a square base, set out from its central octagonal body floating, as the main space. Its external appearance clearly evokes the architecture of the late Gothic and early in his sober plateresco walls on which arches that are topped by splendid crests where ornamentation is reinforced insert. Assembly of this building is to emphasize the careful carving of brick work of the best artists as José Roldán and Francisco Reyes and sections of ceramic which involved several of the most famous potters painters such as Gustavo Bacarisas, Manuel Rodriguez and Perez Tudela. Also involved in it the sculptor Antonio Drum and decorator painter Manuel de la Cuesta, who design the ceramic pieces of the wonderful decoration of its facades. |
