Description
English: Parolyot (Steam Flyer), a project of a jet-propelled aircraft designed by the engineer from Kiev Feodor Geshvend (1839—1890).

Technical characteristics of Parolyot (expected by the inventor):
Configuration: tailless biplane with oval wings; framework of metal tubes, covering of metal (fuselage) and of linen (wings).
Wingspan: 3.0 m.
Wing area: 32.5 m².
Loaded weight: circa 1300 kg.
Takeoff speed: 116 km/h.
Max speed: 280 km/h.
Power plant: steam jet engine (the aircraft was supposed to be propelled with the jet of steam generated in a tube boiler).
Thrust: 1300 kg (according the estimation of V.S. Mikhaylov (1980) the real thrust could not be more than 10 kg).
Feodor Geshvend expected that Parolyot would be able to make a flight from Saint Petersburg to Kiev in 6 hours with 5—6 stopovers.
The aircraft of Feodor Geshvend was never built.

Технические характеристики «Паролёта» (расчётные):
Биплан-бесхвостка с овальными крыльями; каркас – металлические трубы, обшивка фюзеляжа металлическая, крыльев — полотняная.
Размах крыла: 3,0 м.
Площадь крыла: 32,5 м².
Полный вес: около 1300 кг.
Взлётная скорость: 116 км/ч.
Максимальная скорость: 280 км/ч.
Силовая установка: паровой реактивный двигатель (приводить самолёт в движение должна была струя пара, генератором пара служил трубчатый котёл).
Тяга двигателя: 1300 кг (согласно расчётам В.С. Михайлова (1980) в действительности тяга не могла превышать 10 кг).
Ф.Р. Гешвенд рассчитывал, что «Паролёт» совершит перелёт Санкт-Петербург — Киев за 6 часов, с 5—6 промежуточными посадками.
Самолёт Гешвенда не был построен.
