English: A book of scenes of Southern Albania by George de la Poer Beresford, with no text other than a table of contents with descriptions of the plates and titles and production details. The individual views of the lithograph as follows: A view of the town of Parga on the cliffs above the sea, three Albanians seated on the road to the foreground smoking their hookahs, other men walking down the road and a ship on the sea.[1]


Parga is a town and municipality located in Epirus, north-western Greece. The castle of Parga is seen on the top of a hill overlooking the town. It was built in the 11th century by the residents of Parga to protect their town from pirates and the Turks. After Parga was sold to the Ottomans in 1817, Ali Pasha enhanced its defenses and amenities.[2]
