Description
English: Diagram of how direct current power was distributed to customers from a high voltage main distribution line, using a parallel-wired distribution system.

At each customer site, a motor-generator combination is needed to step the dangerous high transmission voltage of thousands of volts down to the safer utility voltage (100-250 volts)

G = High voltage power plant generator M = Motor at customer site D = Dynamo (generator)
