Español: MUSEO DE HISTORIA NATURAL DE VALPARAÍSO

Fundación: 27 de octubre de 1878.

Institución estatal, cultural y educativa al servicio de la comunidad.

El Museo de Historia Natural de Valparaíso es el primer museo regional y el segundo más antiguo de Chile. Funciona desde 1878 al servicio de la comunidad y se encuentra instalado en el Palacio Lyon, ubicado en pleno centro de Valparaíso. Como institución, forma parte importante del patrimonio de la ciudad de Valparaíso incorporándose a su quehacer educativo y cultural, siendo referente y apoyo para los distintos centros educativos formales, como universidades, colegios, escuelas y jardines infantiles, tanto regionales, nacionales y extranjeros. El museo cuenta con un importante fondo bibliográfico y una colección de valiosas piezas museológicas pertenecientes a las Ciencias Naturales, Historia, Arqueología y Antropología.
