Kommentar: Christine Charlotte war die Tochter des württembergischen Herzogs Eberhard III. aus dessen erster Ehe mit Anna Dorothea von Salm-Kyrburg. 1662 heiratete sie den Fürsten Christian von Ostfriesland. Nach dem plötzlichen Tod des Fürsten gebar sie 1665 den künftigen Nachfolger Christian Eberhard (1665-1708). Sie nutzte die Möglichkeit, als Vormünderin ihres Sohnes über die Geschicke Ostfrieslands zu bestimmen, was ihr in der ostfriesischen Geschichtsschreibung einen negativen Ruf einbrachte. Sie versuchte, dem Land eine starke Zentralregierung zu geben und war bemüht, ihre Mitvormünder und die Landstände auszuschalten. Gegen sie formierte sich der Widerstand. Nun versuchte sie in Wien um ihre landesherrliche Souveränität zu kämpfen. 1688 erklärte der Kaiser Christian Eberhard vorzeitig für volljährig. Ihr gelang es aber noch, ihren Rücktritt hinauszuzögern. Die 1645 in Stuttgart geborene Fürstin verstarb 1699 in Bruchhausen/Hoya.
