| Description |
A pair of double-ended Gotha cars was running a shuttle service on route 2 from Ostbahnhof owing tobuilding works preventing operation through to the Hauptbahnhof. This one was being driven by Michael Eckhardt with whom I had a brief correspondence until I suspect he thought I was too enamoured with the GDR - well, I was with the public transport and absence of cars, motorways, hypermarkets etc. Gotha T57 triebwagen nr 46 was one of the oldest vehicles in the fleet, built locally in 1959 and briefly in the late 1990s was an exhibit at the Railway Museum in Prora. No 47 ended up as a Works Car in the Gotha Fleet. |
