Summary[edit]

Description

Ball-and-stick model of the octahedral OsCl6 chains as part of the crystal structure of the orthorhombic high-temperature polymorph of osmium(IV)-chloride, OsCl4.

The Os4+ ions are arranged to form infinite chains along the c axis of OsCl6 octahedra sharing opposite edges.

Structure determined by X-ray diffraction reported in Inorg. Chem. (1977) 16, 1865–1867 and is available as CSD entry 1591345 and COD entry 4343760.
