Description
English: Optical losses and gains in the encapsulation layers of a typical c-Si module: (1) Cell spacing loss; front glass and encapsulation layer (2) reflection and (3) absorption losses; (4) tabbing ribbon shading loss; (5) gain due to reduced cell reflectivity with encapsulation layer (better refractive index matching); (6) light recovery (gain) due to scattered reflection of light on cell metallization, tabbing ribbons or backsheet.
