Description

English: LAKE ERIE - Coast Guardsmen from Aids to Navigation Team Detroit aboard a 49-foot Stern Loading Bouy Boat prepare to place Middle Harbor Shoal LIghted Buoy 1 into Lake Erie April 19, 2012. The ANT removes roughly 150 buoys from Lake Erie in the fall to minimize damage caused by the freezing lake, replaces most of them with more durable winter markers, and switches them back in the spring during Operation Spring Restore.
