English: Opencast Pit. This land has seen some big changes. Once a railway crossed here serving a colliery. Then it was a quarry, probably an opencast coal mine. It is still shown as a quarry on the current OS 1:25 000 map. Now it has been backfilled and is productive arable land. View north towards Arthur's Seat. |
