| Description |
English: Oldham Central and Clegg Street railway stations (site), Greater Manchester Opened in 1847 on what became the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's "Oldham Loop" line from Manchester to Rochdale, this station closed to passengers in 1966. (It was also adjacent to Oldham Clegg Street station, situated roughly where the warehouse to the right now is. This was opened in 1861 by the London & North Western Railway and closed in 1959. The lines ran parallel to the L&YR lines before branching right to Oldham Glodwick Road station). View north east towards Oldham Mumps and Rochdale, before the line was shut in 2009 for conversion to electric tram operation. The platforms also continued behind the camera position for some way. |
