Description
English: Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Excavation at the northern border of the historic old town. The picture shows a suspected tower with strong foundations, dating from the 14th or 15th century.
Deutsch: Oldenburg (Oldb), Ausgrabung zwischen Waffenplatz und Heiligengeistwall, Blickrichtung etwa nach Nordwesten. Ergraben wurde vermutlich das Fundament eines Turmes der Stadtmauer aus dem Spätmittelalter (14./ 15. Jahrhundert). Es könnte sich um den sogenannten "Stumpfen Turm" handelt. Das Backsteinmauerwerk ruht auf einem Fundament aus Granitfindlingen und (nicht zu sehen) Holzbalken.
