Summary[edit]

Description The old bridge on Tower Road (A554) at Merseyside Docks, with its bascule draw span in the process of lowering after having opened for a ship. This view is from the south. Built around 1931, the bridge was closed permanently in March 2017, and in spring 2018 it was replaced by a new bridge that also has a bascule span.
