| Description |
Climbing over mountains west of Stanford on a little road that looked like someone's driveway. Old La Honda Road. Quite a few cyclists passed me on fitness rides that were "hill climbs." Eventually I got to Highway 1 again, near San Gregorio, along the California coast. In 2003, riding with my friend Rick, we planed to go on Highway 9, we got unintentionally onto Highway 17 instead. Not wanting to go onto that death trap, we started to back down the ramp. This pickup stopped and offered us a ride up the pass. He let us off at a great back road down into Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz. |
