| Description |
In 1975 Cromwell was selected to be the accommodation base for future hydroelectric development works of the Clutha and Kawarau River. This atmospheric photograph of the old town is in a photographic album dating from the early 1980s, before the major works that included the move of various buildings into what is now known as Old Cromwell, and the flooding of part of the original town centre.
