| Description |
Basking in the sunshine at Albert Wells' Maldon depot, and acquired with the business of Hall, is OMB2H which remained in Bullock's maroon and white livery, rather than receiving the crimson red of Wells. Behind OMB is a very quiet Duple Commander bodied Leyland Leopard, acquired from the rather odd business adventure of Beachcomber Holidays of Chelmsford. This sole Leyland in rather a heterogeneus fleet was painted in the pale mustard yellow and white livery shard with Wells' Caetano bodied R226, KTW103J. Beachcomber acquired 3 heavyweight 12 metre coaches which never seemed to be used. Though registered at a Chelmsford address, it was run by a Mr T Beanland of Hull. All very curious. Wells' Hatfield Peverel yard had been turned into a housing developmet by now and I guess so too has this old-timey operation off Wantz Road. |
