Summary[edit]
DescriptionOld British Railways Sign - geograph.org.uk - 1616324.jpg |
English: Old British Railways Sign Next to the former level crossing at Barcombe Mills station. The sign waived the right to trespass for local residents who were unable to get to their homes when the Ouse flooded by allowing them to walk up the side of the track until reaching the footpath crossing. The sign possibly remained after closing as British Rail still owned the path of the former track (As does its successors) and the Ouse regularly floods after heavy rainfall. It is only in the last decade or so the line between here and Anchor Lane was given permissive bridleway status. |
