Primarily the lessons must beabout things in which the child himself is interested and whichare adapted to his stage of development. Bachlesson should bring in the elements of selection; placing, andthe thought of beauty as well as develop the power of execution. In this work the chief aim is not the finiE,hed product,but rather the power gained through the effort toward a finishedproduct or to make each new piece of work better than the last.In other w^ords -growth. Besides this, the childs powers of obser-vation are made more acute, his sense and motor powers,judgment, self-control and concentration have been trainedand his imaginative, creative and visualizing powers developed.
